Hops
The marriage of nature and industry.
Perfectly positioned in the heart of the thriving residential redevelopment district of Brewerytown, Philadelphia, Hops has played an integral role in the gentrification of the neighborhood.
Intent on continuing its brewery heritage, while offering a trendy, beer garden oasis within the city limits, Hops sought a one-of-a-kind design that unites the wholesome craft of brewing with the industrial ambiance of the original building, and it’s urban surroundings.
To bring both worlds together, an impressive mural of beer’s origin—hops—spans two-stories and allures passers by to enter the 7,500 sf indoor-outdoor hangout through large, glass window walls that open onto the city streets. Hand-painted by a local Philly artist, the mural not only inspired the brewery’s name, but set the tone for the distinctive Interior Design.
Inside, visitors may enjoy relaxed lounge seating, convenient access to multiple bars, entertainment areas that feature flatscreen TVs, shuffleboards, foosball, and pool tables, and an expansive dining room with an open kitchen layout and intimate dining spaces.
Organic, creative, and accessible to Hops’ diverse clientele, the newly designed space blends an earthy color palette, planters, and natural finishes that draw inspiration from the adjacent Fairmount Park, with industrial elements, clean lines, and brushed metals typical of the eclectic neighborhood. All seamlessly integrated to celebrate the meeting of nature and industry, Hops has become a destination for locals and visitors alike.
